Determined Lady won Thursday's third race at Gulfstream, for her third straight win in a turf optional claimer at the Hallandale Beach track.
Determined Lady, the 7-5 favorite was ridden by Eddie Castro and beat Bygone Days by 1 3/4 lengths. Her winning time was 1:41.82 on the course listed as firm. She was not entered for a tag.
David Fawkes trains Determined Lady for owner Harold Queen. Fawkes and Queen also teamed with Big Drama, the sire of Determined Lady.
In 2010, Big Drama won the Breeders' Cup Sprint (Grade 1) at Churchill Downs and later was voted the winner of the Eclipse Award as champion sprinter,
