Tampa Bay on Wednesday: $45,743 Late Pick 5 Carryover

After being dark on Monday and Tuesday, Tampa Bay Downs will resume racing on Wednesday with a Late Pick  5 carryover of $45,743 and a new pool in the Pick 6.

There were no tickets with all five winners in the Late Pick 5 on Sunday, the most recent Tampa Bay Downs race day.

That was the consequence of two long shot winners.

Because of those high-odds winners, there was just one ticket with all six  winners in the Pick  6.  It paid $119,339.10 on the 20 cent only bet.

Based on Tampa Bay Downs betting patterns on carryovers, we expect that as much as $300,000 will be bet on the Late Pick 5 on Wednesday.

The Late Pick 5 is a 50 cent minimum bet. On Wednesday it will be on races five to nine with the sequence scheduled to start at 2:15 p.m. First post  is 12:15 p.m. for the nine-race card.

The Pick 6 will start on the fourth race, with scheduled post of 1:45 p.m.

On Wednesday's first race, there is a Super Hi-5 carryover  of $4,444.

On Sunday, Tampa Bay Downs paid $427.20 on each Late Pick 5 ticket with four winners.  The number of those tickets was not readily available.

Betting on the Late Pick 5 was $71,761. Of that, $45,743 was put into a carryover.

On Sunday, the Pick 6 was on  races four to nine and the Late Pick 5 was on races five to nine.

Program numbers of the six winning horses were  2-6-1-2-4-4.

Boca Guy (2), at 13-1, won the seventh race and Ride Into the Sky (4), at 20-1, won the eighth race.
