If the second race is any indication, it could be a day for speed on the dirt at Gulfstream.
Off Duty, at 13-1 and on the rail, shot out to the lead and was never threatened as he won at seven furlongs in 1:22.94--a fast time for a $6,250 claiming race.
There was a late morning shower that may be aiding the speed for early races.
The win was the fourth in 37 career starts for Off Duty, a four-year-old gelding who was ridden by Antonio Alfaro and is trained by Howard Mills.
