Andreya's Reward fought off Matty's Wondergirl in deep stretch to win by a head in Thursday's fourth race at Gulfstream.
It was the first win for Andreya's Reward, a three-year-old filly, since last Oct. 3 when she won the Our Dear Peggy Stakes at one mile on turf at Gulfstream.
Nine off the board finishes followed, all but one in stakes.
On Thursday, trainer and part-owner took a chance by putting Andreya's Reward into a $35,000 claimer at one mile on turf.
She rallied from back in the pack to win, and was not claimed. With Eddie Castro riding, she won in 1:37.01 on the course listed as firm.
