Gulfstream Park will have a Rainbow
6 carryover of $49,852.58 on Friday.
First post is 12:50 p.m. for a ten-race
card. The Rainbow 6 is on races five through ten. The six races have 53 entrants, including one
also eligible and one main track only.
The carryover continues to grow
because Thursday was the sixth straight
race day without the carryover/jackpot payoff requirement of just one
ticket with the winners of all six Rainbow 6 races.
On Thursday there were
15 tickets with all six winners. Each received $1,373.46
The carryover coming in was $41,023.
Bettors added $36,833 to the pool.
Gulfstream took
out 20 percent of the day's Rainbow 6 bet. It divided 56 percent among tickets
with six winners and put 24 percent into the carryover.
Going
into Thursday’s tenth race, one live ticket would have taken down the $70,454
jackpot/carryover if the 4 horse Blindedbythetruth won the race.
That
horse was never in contention and finished seventh in the ten-horse field.
Street Brilliant, the 5-2 second betting choice, won the race.
There
were 51 starters in Thursday's Rainbow 6 races, for an average field size of
8.4. The seventh race was won by Red Crescent at 13-1. The other five
winners were 5-1 or lower, including two favorites.
The
Rainbow 6 is a 20-cent per combination only bet, Bettors can use multiple
horses in each race and thus have multiple combinations.
