Dream Friend (3) won the opening leg fifth race--beating Cairo Campaign by 1 1/4 lengths in a $20,000 claiming race at one mile on turf.
The carryover coming in was $427,533. Bettors added $278,460 to the pool.
Gulfstream ha a guarantee that the jackpot pool will be at last $750,000 if there is just one ticket with all six winners. The combination of the carryover and the new bets os about $706,000.Thus, Gulfstream will need to put in about $44,000 if there i just one ticket with all six winners.
The sixth race was won by Shop Girl (3) at 9-5. The race was the start of the Late Pick 5, with no carryover. Bettors wagered $385,408 on the Late Pick 5,
