Great Island (2), the 2-5 favorite, caught Drop a Hint (8) in the final strides and won the $100,000 Suwanee River Stakes (Grade 3) at Gulfstream on Saturday.
Because of rain, the 1 1/8 mile race for fillies and mares 4-YO and up was moved form the turf to the main track that is listed s Sloppy.
Irad Ortiz Jr. rode Great Island for his fourth win of the day. Chad Brown trains Great Island who won in 1:52.51.
