Clear skies and temperatures in the high 70s are expected on Saturday for Gulfstream Park's fifth annual Pegasus Day card, with twelve races and first post at 11:40 a.m.
The $3 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational (Grade 1) is the 12th race with scheduled post at 5:44 p.m.
The Pegasus and six other graded stakes races will share the spotlight with the approximately 1,800 spectators that Gulfstream will allow on its racing premises.
Due to precautions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, Gulfstream since last March 15 has allowed spectators only in luxury suites on a limited basis.
Gulfstream has sold out its allotment of tickets for Saturday. They are all in areas on the ground floor, second floor and third floor in restaurants or with access to other food services. Patrons will be required tom wear masks, and there will be social distancing and sanitization requirements.
There are no general admission tickets for Saturday. Owners and trainers who have horses entered in races on Saturday are the only persons who will b e allowed on the apron area an near the rail.
Where to Watch and Wager
The NBC Sports cable channel will have live coverage at Gulfstream from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
It will show the $1 million Pegasus Turf Invitational (Grade 1) with scheduled post at 4:59 p.m. and the Pegasus dirt stakes.
As usual Gulfstream will show all of it races live o its Web site.
Also as usual, betting on all Gulfstream races will be available on most Advance Deposit Wagering services.
In addition, simulcast wagering on all Gulfstream races is available at Tampa Bay Downs and most other pari-mutuels in Florida.
