Gulfstream Park on Wednesday announced entries for Saturday's $3 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational (Grade 1) and the eleven races on its undercard.
The Pegasus has twelve entrants--the maximum for a 1 1/8 mile dirt stakes at Gulfstream.
The race does not have a clear-cut favorite. Among the top contenders are Tax, Knicks Go, Code of Honor. Jesus' Team and Mr. Freeze.
Scheduled post for the Pegasus is 5:44 p.m.
It is the 12 and final race on a day when first post is 11:40 a.m.
We will have race previews starting later on Thursday.
This link to the Equibase Web site has the Gulfstream entries for Friday. It has click-ons for handicapping material. Some is free. Some, including Past Performances, are at cost.
The stake races are:
*Race 4 -- $100,000 Fred W. Hooper (Grade 3), one mile dirt, 4-YO and up, 1:05 p.m.
*Race 7 -- $125,000 Marshua's River (Grade 3), one mile turf, F&M 4-YO and up, 2:38 p.m.
*Race 8 -- $125,000 La Prevoyante (Grade 3), 1 1/2 miles turf, F&M 4-YO and up, 3:09 p.m.
*Race 9 -- $200,000 Inside Information (Grade 2), seven furlongs dirt, F&M 4-YO and up, 3:40 p.m.
*Race 10 -- $150,000, W.L. McKnight (Grade 3), 1 1/2 miles turf, 4-YO and up, 4:13 p.m.
*Race 11 -- $1million Pegasus World Cup Turf Invitational (Grade 1), 1 3/16 miles,4-YO and up turf, 4:59 p.m.
*Race 12 -- $3 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational (Grade 1), 1 1/8 miles dirt, 5:44 p.m.
