The $60,000 Millions Turf Preview is coming up at Gulfstream Park West (Calder) as the fifth ace with, scheduled post of 2:33 p.m.
It is 1 1/16 miles on turf for Florida-bred 3Os and up. The course is listed as firm. There are ten entrants, including five that have won stakes races at GP West or at Gulfstream Park.
We are going with three of them in an exacta box: Galleon Mast (7), Monforte (8) and Mugsamatic (9)
Galleon Mast won this race each of the past two years. Monforte won the Showing Up at one mile on the GP West turf on Nov. 7, and to us looks like the best of several horses with early speed. Mugsamatic finished fifth in a nine-horse field in this year's United Nations Handicap at Monmouth Park.
