Entries will be out on Wednesday afternoon for this Saturday’s
opening races in the 2017 Florida Sire Stakes at Gulfstream Park.
The Sire Stakes is an annual series of six races. Three races are for Florida-bred 2-year-old
males that meet other eligibility requirements and three are for Florida-bred
2-year-old fillies that meet other eligibility requirements.

The Aug. 5 opening leg races are the $100,000 Dr. Fager at
six furlongs on dirt for males and the $100,000 Desert Vixen at six furlongs on
dirt for fillies.
Dunk, Easter Vigil, Capital S and Seattle Treasure are
among likely starters in the Dr. Fager Florida Fuego, Phantom Ro, Awesome Mass
and Sittin on Cotton are among likely starters in the Desert Vixen.

The Sire Stakes series will continue on Sept. 2 and
conclude on Sept. 30.
The
series is sponsored by the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders’ and Owners’
Association and is open to sons and daughters of Florida-registered stallions
whose owners have nominated them for the program.
You forgot to mention a very nicely bred son of Kantharos named Majestic Secret as a potential starter? He actually has beat Dunk on 2 occasions and you should really go take a look at his pedigree as he comes from an outstanding female family!
