Diaz has been scratched from Sunday's $50,000 Mecke Handicap at Gulfstream Park.
The listed reason was a decision by Tamara Levy, the trainer of Diaz. The 5-year-old gelding has won three straight races, all non-stakes on turf, and might have been among favorites in the Mecke.
The race is 1 1/8 miles on turf for 3-year-olds and up. It is the ninth race with scheduled post of 5:34 p.m.
The scratch of Diaz leaves eight entrants.There is a jockey switch on Spring Up from Cornelio Velasquez to Miguel Vasquez.
