Gulfstream Park will have a carryover of $795,015 on its Rainbow 6 on Saturday.
Gulfstream
will have twelve races, with first post of 12:55 p.m. The Rainbow 6 is on races seven through
twelve, with the sequence set to start at 3:59 p.m.
The carryover
has grown because Gulfstream has gone 29 days without the jackpot payoff
requirement of just one ticket with the winners of all six Rainbow 6 races.
But the
current carryover cycle will soon come to an end.
Gulfstream
on Friday announced that it will have a mandatory payout of the Rainbow 6 carryover
pool on Saturday, June 17.
On
mandatory payout days, a single unique ticket with all six winners is not
required to take down or share in the carryover jackpot. The entire Rainbow 6
pool is paid out to the holders of tickets with the most winners.
Mandatory
payouts are also scheduled at Gulfstream for the Late Pick 5 and Super Hi-5 on
June 17.
On
Friday, there were 347 tickets with the winners of all six Rainbow 6
races. Each received $243.00 on a 20-cent
bet.
On Friday, the carryover coming in was $763,033. Bettors added $133,409 to the Rainbow 6 pool.

Per
its rules on non-jackpot payoff days, Gulfstream took out 20 percent of the day’s
bet, divided 56 percent among tickets with six winners and added 24 percent to
the carryover.
HorseRacingFLA’s review of Equibase charts shows that
Friday’s payout was the lowest on the Rainbow 6 since May 14 when the payoff
was $242 with 252 winning tickets.
On Friday, five of the Rainbow 6 winners were favorites at
8-5 or lower. The other winner was 9-1.
The
Rainbow 6 is a 20-cent per combination-only bet. Multiple horses can be used in
each race, thus setting up a ticket with multiple 20 cent
combinations. For example, a ticket with two horses in each race has
64 combinations and costs $12.80.
