Thinkinquality won Gulfstream's first race on Wednesday in a fast 1:47.66 for 1 1/8 miles on turf.
Thinkinquality, the 9-5 favorite, beat Mueser by 2 1/2 lengths. Walker's Landing finished a nose back, in third place.
The race was a $10,000 claimer for 3-YOs and up. Eddie Castro rode Thinkinquality for trainer Sandra Slivka.
The second race is coming up at 1:48 p.m. It is five furlongs on turf, a $12,500 optional claimer for 3-YOs and up.
Cornelio Velasquez is riding Aethon, now the 9-5 favorite. It is the first mount of the Gulfstream spring meet for Velasquez, who has relocated from Belmont Park.
