Here are our selections for the Belmont Stakes, post time 6:37 p.m.

We will post our recommended bets shortly on this Web site and on our blog.

There is more than a 50 percent  chance of rain between \5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at Belmont Park in Elmont,. N.Y.

Our selections are based on an expectation that the track will be fast.  However, it is Exaggerator’s race to win or lose, no matter the track conditions.

1 – Exaggerator

2 – Stradivari

3 – Suddenbreakingnews

4 – Brody’s Cause

5 --  Destin

Stradivari could take the lead in the final turn and might be hard for the closers other than Exaggerator to catch.

Suddenbreakingnews was flying at the end of the  Kentucky Derby

Brody’s Cause could be sitting on a big race for Dale Romans, just as Cherry Wine was in the Preakness.

Destin could finish higher than fifth, but it  is more likely that closers Suddenbreakingnews and Brody’s Cause will catch him.
