The Super Hi-5 was hit in the first race at Gulfstream Park on Friday, and it paid $4,509.20 for a $1 bet.
The carryover was $3,572.93 going into the race. Bettors added $17,640. Gulfstream divided the carryover plus 83 percent of the wagering among tickets with the first five finishers in correct order.
The second race has six entrants--lower than the minimum number of seven starters needed for Gulfstream to have the Super Hi-5.
A new Super Hi-5 pool will begin with the third race (scheduled post 2:17 p.m.) which has eight entrants.
The first race order of finish with program number, name and odds (in parentheses) was:
First -- 8 Lady Red Love (7-2)
Second -- 9 Hiram's Mistress (4-1)
Third -- 5 Aviatrix (1-1)
Fourth -- 4 Giulietta G (81-1)
Fifth -- 1 Aroma Blue (21-1)
There are no consolation payoffs on the Super Hi-5, such as four-of-five places. When there are no tickets with the first five in correct order the carryover continues.
