Gelfenstein, at 6-1, fought off an early challenge from Sugar Daddy and went on to win the seventh race--starting the Late Pick 5 at Gulfstream.
Gelfenstein, owned by namesake Gelfenstein Farm, won the 7 1/2 furlong turf race in 1:28.73 on the course listed as firm. The race was a $10,000 claimer for 3-YOs and up.
Emisael Jaramillo rode Gelfenstein for trainer Gilberto Zerpa.
If you want a speed horse in the eighth race, it could be Che Quirido. The downside is that he has the difficullt 12 hole.
