BAUER'S BETS: FAST & FIRM at TAMPA

MY BOY LENNY (6) is the one to beat in Race 5, Post time is scheduled for 2:27 PM. A compact, but quality field of four year-olds and up will sprint six furlongs under $100,000 Optional Claiming conditions.

The choice is on a three race win streak for leading trainer Gerald Bennett and his speed figures suggest that he will continue against this group. Six-time top jock Daniel Centeno returns,
he and Bennett are scoring at a 30% clip this season.

THE BET  $20 to win on MY BOY LENNY (6) and a $2 exacta box with JAGUAR POZ (3) and
THREE RULES (4).   3,4,6.    Total Bet $32
GOOD LUCK!!

PREVIOUS RESULTS  6/8   The feature, Race 7 was declared a NO CONTEST due to a tragic accident during the race, an eight and one-half furlong route for $8,000 NW3L claimers. A spill occurred entering the Clubhouse turn when JACKIES DREAM (1) with Tomas Mejia up and KURINGAI (6) ridden by Harry Hernandez, collided. A very dangerous situation unfolded as the field continued through the backstretch and into the far turn, as there were the two riders and JACKIES DREAM down on the track. At the same time, KURINGAI continued riderless in the midst of the remaining runners. A possibly even worse disaster was averted when the Stewards activated the emergency alert with lights and sirens that signaled all jockeys to pull up at the top of the stretch.
Mejia and Hernandez returned to the jockey's room under their own power and are undergoing concussion protocols. Sadly, JACKIES DREAM, a sophomore Filly owned and trained by Mike Dini, was humanely euthanized due to the severity of her injuries. KURINGAI went back to her barn uninjured.
All bets were refunded, the bank roll remains at plus $184.40.
