The Rainbow 6 was hit by a single winning ticket at Gulfstream Park on Saturday and it paid $77,343.16 on the 20-cent only bet.
Gulfstream will begin a new Rainbow 6 pool on Sunday. It will be on races five through ten.
Gulfstream will have ten races on Easter Sunday with first post of 12:55 p.m.
On Sunday the winning ticket was the only ticket that had Liquid Aloha, the 23-1 winner of the 11th and final race, along with the winners of the other five Rainbow 6 races.
The numbers of the winning horses were 1-4-3-8-7-9.
The Rainbow 6 jackpot is a combination of the full carryover plus 80 percent of the day’s new Rainbow 6 bets.
Gulfstream pays out the jackpot only on days when there is just one ticket with the winners of all six Rainbow 6 races.
On days with multiple wining tickets, Gulfstream takes out 20 percent of the day’s Rainbow 6 bet. It then divides 56 percent of the day’s Rainbow 6 bet among tickets with the most winners (usually six) and adds 24 percent to the carryover.
On Saturday the carryover coming in was $26,957. Bettors added $63,091 to the pool. The payoff was 80 percent of the new bet plus the entire carryover.
The Rainbow 6 is a 20-cent per combination-only bet. Multiple horses can be used in each race, thus setting up a ticket with multiple 20 cent combinations. For example, a ticket with two horses in each race has 64 combinations and costs $12.80.
