Irap, at 31-1, shook up the list of Kentucky Derby contenders by winning the Bluegrass Stakes at Keeneland on Saturday.
Irap, trained by Doug O'Neill, came into the race as a maiden. He tracked early leader Wild Shot, and took the lead coming out of the final turn.
With Julien Leparoux riding, Irap held off Practical Joke to win by a half length. He won in 1:50.91 for 1 1/8 miles on the track listed as fast.
McCrakem, the favorite who was previously unbeaten came in third.
