This is a good betting situation, as the probable favorite BRAMBLE BAY (4) may be vulnerable at today's distance. She ships in and will try the Tampa turf for the first time. This five year-old Mare has never won at five furlongs and will be chasing some confirmed speed merchants.
ABOVE PAR (7) from the powerful Gerald Bennett barn is another trying on the local sod. Bennett, last seasons top trainer, claimed this one for $32,000 out her last race on October 16 at Delaware Park. This outfit wins at 25% after a claim and she has logged a trio of local works. The latest a "bullet" 36.2 Breezing on December 3. A very square price at 6/1 on the morning line.
