The field for Gulfstream's fourth and feature race is down to five horses following the scratch late this morning of Trophy Chaser.
On the Equibase Web site, the reason for the scratch is listed as "veterinarian."
The fourth race is a $60,000 handicap at six furlongs on dirt for 3-year-olds and up. Scheduled post time is 2:40 p.m.
Trophy Chaser, a 5-year-old, has not raced since May 2, 2020 when he finished 13th and last in the Oaklawn (Grade 1) at Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs, Ark,
In his previous race, Trophy Chaser won the Challenger Stakes (Grade 3). In today's race, he likely would have vied for betting favorite with Double Ctown and Jackson.
