GP: Friday Rainbow 6 Carryover at $289,210; Sire Stakes Second Races on Saturday

HRFLA Staff Report

Gulfstream Park will have a Rainbow 6 carryover of $289,210 when it resumes racing on Friday.

The Hallandale Beach, Fla., track will have ten races with  first post at 2:00 p.m.

Gulfstream also will have racing this Saturday  and Sunday  The Saturday co-features are the second leg races in the Florida Sire  Stakes Series for 2-year-olds (details below).

On Friday, the  Rainbow 6 will be on races five to ten with the sequence scheduled to start at 4:12p.m.  It is a 20 cents per  combination only-bet.

The carryover has grown because Gulfstream has gone ten straight race days without the jackpot payoff requirement of just one ticket with the winning horses in all six races.

For Friday, Gulfstream is guaranteeing that the Rainbow 6 pool (carryover plus new bets) and payoff will be at least $450,000 if there is just one ticket with the six winners.

On Sunday, Gulfstream's most recent race day, there were seven tickets with all six winners. Each ticket won $13,407.14 on a 20 cent bet.

Program numbers of the winning horses, in races five to ten, were 1-8-7-1-3-3.

Betting on the Rainbow 6 was $167,625.

Of that, Gulfstream took out 20 percent and then divided 56 percent among tickets with six winners and added  24 percent to the carryover.

Friday's first  race will have  a Super Hi-5 carryover of $4,950.

Florida Sire Stakes

On Saturday, Gulfstream will have the second leg races in the Florida Sire Stakes for 2-year-olds who are Florida-breds and meet a series of other eligibility requirements that are set by the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders' and Owners' Association.

The $200,000 Affirmed will be seven furlongs on dirt for males. The $200,000 Susan's Girl will be seven furlongs on dirt for fillies.

Entries for the Sire Stakes races and Saturday's  other races will be out on Wednesday evening. We will have previews and other coverage beginning on Thursday.

Entries for Sunday's races will be out on Thursday evening.

The Condition Book shows the Sunday card will have the $60,000 Village of Gulfstream Park Handicap at five furlongs on turf for fillies and mares 3-YO and up.
