A nine-race card fills the final Friday afternoon of the winter/spring meeting in Tampa. Conditions are fast and firm, the first Post time is 12:15 PM.
A wide-open field of Claiming Fillies and Mares (three and upward) will compete at a mile on the lawn under $10,000 NW2L conditions in Race 7. Post time is 3:29 PM. RadioStPete online live coverage, including legendary announcer Richard Grunder will start at 3:27.
STARSHIP GODDESS (1) appears to be the one to beat in this contest. This four year-old daughter of AWESOME AGAIN is lightly raced, (four races, all on Tampa turf) and has earned the best speed figures in this group. She won her Maiden condition at first asking and was a decent second in her last outing after a pair of off the board finishes following the Maiden the score. She worked a "bullet" 47.2/5 four panels on April 24 and should be ready to run big for trainer M. Anthony Ferraro. Regular rider Walber Allencar returns in the irons. A lot to like here.
