A nine-race Sunday card closes out the racing week in Tampa. Conditions are fast and firm. First Post is scheduled for 12:17 PM.
Today's play is in Race 5, Post is 2:20. A group of four year-olds and up will compete at a mile and one-sixteenth under $10,000 Claiming conditions. Live coverage on RadioStPete online, including the call from legendary announcer Richard Grunder will start at 2:18.
IRISH MAJOR (5) showed that he is back in top form now with his five length score at a mile and forty yards on dirt back on March 26. He can run on the green also, with four wins on Tampa turf to his credit. He has been in the money twelve out of fifteen trips on the grass. Regular rider Alonso Quinonez returns. A repeat of his last effort will win here.
THE BET $20 to win on IRISH MAJOR (5) and a $5 exacta box with ROUGH NIGHT (6) 5,6. Also, a $2 exacta box with those two and KING LEONARDO (8) 5,6,8. Total Bet $42 GOOD LUCK!!
