Gulfstream Has Mandatory Rainbow 6 Payoff on Sunday

Gulfstream Park will have a mandatory payout on its  Rainbow 6 on Sunday, and racing fans around the country are excited about the prospect of a $10 million-plus pool.


The size of the Sunday pool will depend on what happens in the Rainbow 6 on Saturday at Gulfstream in Hallandale Beach, Fla.

On both days. Gulfstream will race with no spectators and thus no on-track betting.  Gulfstream has been  doing that since March 13 as part of its efforts to comply with federal, state  and Broward County guidances on limiting the number of people at public events during the coronavirus pandemic.

Bettors may still watch and wager on Gulfstream races via advance deposit wagering (ADW) accounts.

On Saturday, Gulfstream has a 12 -race card.

The Rainbow 6 will ben races seven to twelve with the sequence scheduled to start at 3:48 p.m.


The Rainbow 6 carryover for Saturday is $1,195,986.  The carryover has grown because Gulfstream has gone the first ten days of its spring meet without the jackpot payoff requirement of just one ticket with the winners of all six Rainbow 6 races.

The jackpot consists of the  entire coming-in carryover plus 80 percent of the day's new Rainbow 6 bet.

If there are multiple wining tickets on Saturday, the carryover will extend into Sunday and Gulfstream will guarantee that the pool will be at least $5 million.

On Sunday, Gulfstream  will divide the jackpot payoff among all tickets with six winners--regardless the number of them.

On Sunday, Gulfstream  will pay out the full pools and have no carryovers on the Late Pick 5 and on the Super Hi-5 on the 11th and final race.  If there are no tickets with all places correct, four of five will be a winning ticket.
