Tampa Bay Resumes on Wdnedday, Gulfstream on Thursday

Tampa Bay Downs and Gulfstream Park are both dark this Monday and Tuesday.

Tampa Bay, in Oldsmar, Fla., will resume racing on Wednesday with eight races and first post of 12:30 p.m.

The only carryover is $51,635--on the Pick 6. The 20-cents per combination only bet is on races three to eight with  the sequence scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m. Eastern.

Gulfstream, in Hallandale Beach, Fla., will resume racing on Thursday with eleven races and first post of 1:00 p.m.

The only carryover is $905,127--on the Rainbow 6. The 20 cents per combination only bet is on races six to eleven with the sequence scheduled to start at 3:38 p.m.

Both tracks will again be racing with no spectators, and thus with no live betting.

They are doing that as part of their efforts to comply with federal, state and local goverbnemt gudances on limitng thesize of public, gagtherings amid the coronavirus (COVID-19)pandemic.

Most of the other racetracks and Off Track Betting locations that are sources of simulcast betting on Gulfstream and Tampa Bay are closed.


Fans can still watch and wager on Gulfstream and Tampa Bay races by Internet and phone with  Advance Deposit Wagering (ADW) accounts.

HorseRacingFLA's review of Equibase material shows  that the two Florida tracks are among the only five North American tracks that are running thoroughbred races this week.

The others are Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs, Ark., Fonner Park in Grand Island, Neb., and Will Rogers Downs in Claremore, Okla.

Approximately a dozen other tracks are closed because of orders from state and local governments or because of their own decisions,
