Due to rain, all five Gulfstream Park West scheduled-for-turf races on Saturday were moved to the dirt track that is listed as sloppy and is sealed.
That includes the still-to-be-run sixth, eighth and tenth (last) races.
This is the 20th day of the 40-day GP West meet, which is being run at Calder. It is the meet's ninth day on which meet sponsor Gulfstream Park has not held turf racing because of wet conditions.
In upcoming articles on this blog and on our Web site we will have reports on how the exceptional number of off-the-turf days has impacted average field sizes (down significantly, as might be expected) and all-sources handle (somewhat surprisingly it is running slightly ahead of last year).
