Cashless Society Looms Large in Fifth at GP West
Today's fifth race at the Gulfstream Park West meet is one mile on turf for Florida-bred fillies and mares 3-YO and up.
It is a $16,000 optional claimer with a $37,000 purse. The field is down to seven with the scratch of Indys Empire (3).
We like the win chances of Cashless Society (2), a 3-YO who could go off at 5-1 or higher.
This daughter of Temple City has won two of four career starts--one on turf at Gulfstream Park and the other on turf at Saratoga. Look for her to make a late run under jockey Carlos Montoya in a race that could have a quick pace.
Cashless Society is making her first start for trainer Elizabeth Dobles and Imaginary Stables. On Sept. 3, they claimed her out of a race at Saratoga from Chad Brown and Klaravich Stables..
In her last three races, all at GP West, Dobles has two wins and a second place finish.
In an exacta box we like Cashless Society with Sober on Sunday (5) and Two Step Blues (6), Publicist (8) also should be considered in back-up exactas.
