First post is 1:15 p.m. for the
nine-race card at
Calder in Miami Gardens. The Rainbow
6 is on races four to nine.
On Thursday there
were just two tickets with the winners of all six Rainbow 6 races. Both tickets
received $10,656.86 on the 20 cents only bet.
Bettors added $34,273
to the pool. Meet sponsor Gulfstream
Park took out 20 percent. Per the rules on non-jackpot payoff days, it divided
56 percent among winning tickets and added 24 percent to the carryover.
The jackpot
consists of the entire carryover plus 80
percent of the day’s wagering on the
Rainbow 6.
Gulfstream
pays out the jackpot only on days when there is just one ticket with the
winners of all six Rainbow six races.
Thursday was
the 13th day of the GP West meet, and the 13th day
without a single ticket jackpot winner.
There were 46 starters
in the Rainbow 6 races. Odds on the
winners were 10-1, 5-1, 7-1, 5-1, 9-2 and 9-5.
The
Rainbow 6 is a 20-cent per combination-only bet. Multiple horses can be used in
each race, thus setting up a ticket with multiple 20 cent
combinations. For example, a ticket with two horses in each race has
64 combinations and costs $12.80.
