The second, fourth, sixth, eighth and tenth races are
scheduled for turf. The weather forecast is for a 20 percent chance of rain
during racing hours.
The carryover is $42,078 on the Rainbow 6, which
starts on
the fifth race.
We will have coverage and a wrap-up on this blog.
Saturday is the tenth day of the GP West meet; which
Gulfstream Park runs under a lease with Calder.
Friday was the fourth day of the meet when all
scheduled-for-turf races were taken off the turf due to wet conditions.
On Friday, six of the nine GP West races were moved from
turf to the dirt track that was listed as Sloppy and was sealed.
That resulted in 21 scratches from the scheduled for turf
races. There were just 51 starters in
the nine races.
All-sources handle was $2,826,813. That was the second lowest at GP West for a Friday
since 2015, when HorseRacingFLA began using Equibase data to report on handle
at Gulfstream Park and at GP West.
