GP Sunday: Rainbow 6 Carryover is $888,014

The carryover on the Rainbow 6  at Gulfstream Park has grown to $888,014 and it will be all on the line on Sunday.

Gulfstream's 11-race card has a first post of 1:15 p.m. There are no stakes races on the card.

The Rainbow 6, a 20-cent per combination only bet, will be on races six to eleven with the sequence set to start at 3:43 p.m.

The  carryover has grown because Gulfstream has gone 29 straight race days without the jackpot carryover payout  requirement of just one ticket with all six Rainbow 6 winning horses.

On Saturday there were 85 tickets with all six winners. Each  was paid $1,650.66 on the 20-cent only bet.

Program numbers of the winning horses were.1-4-8-8-4-6.

Bettors put $253,328 into the Rainbow 6. Of that Gulfstream took out 20 percent, divided 56 percent among winning tickets and added 24 percent to the carryover.

Gulfstream is starting Sunday with the dirt listed as Fast and the turf as Firm.

However the Weather Chanel  forecast is for a 75 percent chance of thunderstorms between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Races  one, three, five, seven, nine and 11 are scheduled for the turf - with three of them in the Rainbow 6 and two in the Late Pick 5.  If a race is taken of turf after those two bets are underway, all horses that are not late scratches and remain in become ALL winners for the multi-race purposes.

Sunday’s Rainbow 6 sequence will be kicked off by a five-furlong maiden special weight race for 2-year-olds with a full field of 12 in Race 6 and highlighted by a 6 1/2-furlong optional claiming allowance for state-bred 3-year-olds and up in race 10.
