Gulfstream Rainbow 6 Carryover at $81,000

Friday on this blog, we said we expected that wet conditions would result in a bigger than usual number of tickets with all six winners in the Gulfstream Park Rainbow 6.

We were on target.  There were 53 winning Rainbow 6 tickets  and each  paid $511.82 on the 20-cent only  bet.

That was the highest number of winning Rainbow 6 tickets since this past Aug. 9.  That day there were 59 winnistng tickets and each paid $413.00.

With multiple winning tickets the carryover grew from $69,302 to $81,024 and is six days old.

On Saturday the Rainbow 6 will be on races seven to 12 with the sequence scheduled to start at 3:52 p.m.

The card has twelve races with first post of 12:45 p.m.

Gulfstream has two stakes races on Saturday.

The $75,000 Trinniberg is six furlongs on dirt for 3-year-olds and up. It is the fifth race with scheduled post of 2:47 p.m.

The $100,000 Sheer Drama is seven furlongs on dirt for Florida-bred fillies and mares 3-years-old and up. It is the 11^th race with scheduled post of 6:03 p.m.

Gulfstream had two stakes races on Friday.

Deland won the $75,000 Mo Exception at one mile on dirt for 3-years and up.

One of a Kind won the $75,000 The Vid for 3-year-olds and up. It was  1 1/16 miles on dirt—originally scheduled for turf.  Scratches reduced the number of starters to four.

Friday Rainbow 6

As rain fell, Gulfstream late Friday morning  moved its five scheduled-for-turf races to  the dirt track that was listed as sloppy and was sealed. That gave bettors ample time for wet-track handicapping the Rainbow 6  sequence that began on the fourth race at 3:30 p.m.

Scratches reduced the number of Rainbow 6 starters to 40. That lessened the chance of a single ticket with all six winners that woud take down the jackpot of the full carryover plus 80 percent of the day’s Rainbow 6 bets.

Wagering on the Rainbow 6 was a low $48,056.

Gulfstream took out 20 percent, divided 56 percent among winning tickets and added 24 percent to the carryover.

Numbers on the winning horses were 5-7-6-7-7-11. None were at higher odds than 6-1.

In all nine races the winner was no worse than third after a half mile—making it still another day when speed held up in the slop.
