Kroy won Gulfstream Park’s fourth and
feature race on
Friday in a blanket three-horse photo finish.
Kroy, at 9-5,beat 8-1 shot One of a Kind by a nose.
Galleon Mast, the 6-5 favorite finished another nose behind in third place.
The optional claiming race was one mile on turf for
3-year-olds and up. The purse was $48,000 and the optional claiming price was
$62,500. None of the seven starters were in for a claim.
With Emisael Jaramillo riding, Kroy led at every call and
won in the fast time of 1:35.08 on the course listed as firm.
Kroy is trained by Armando De La Cerda and owned by
Midwest Thoroughbreds.
The victory was the fifth in 13 career starts for Kroy,a
4-year-old gelded son of The Factor.
Two
of his wins were in turf stakes at Gulfstream.
*There were eight tickets with all six winning horses in
the Gulfstream Rainbow 6 on Friday.
Each ticket paid $4,126.15 on the 20-cent only bet.
With multiple winning tickets, the Rainbow 6 carryover
continues for a third day.
On Saturday it will be $38,015, on races seven through
twelve. The sequence is scheduled to start at 3:52 p.m.
*The Saturday feature race is the $75,000 Barely Stakes at
one mile on dirt for fillies and mares 3-years-old and up.
It is the 11th race with scheduled post of
6:03
p.m.
*On Sunday, Gulfstream will have twelve races with first
post at 12:45 p.m.
The feature will be the $75,000 Jupiter Beach Stakes at
five furlongs on turf for 3-year-olds and up.
It will be the 11th race with scheduled post of 6:03 p.m.
