Galleon Mast, Kroy Head Friday Field at Gulfstream



Friday's feature at Gulfstream Park is an allowance/optional claiming race with a seven-horse field that includes five stakes winners.

It is one mile on turf for 3-year-olds and up, with a $48,000 purse and a $62,500 optional claiming price.  It is the fourth race with scheduled post of 3:30 p.m.

Galleon Mast and Kroy are the likely favorites.

First post is 2:00 p.m. for a ten-race card.

In the first race there is a carryover of $1,392 on the Super Hi-5.

The carryover on the Rainbow 6 is $23,866. It is on races five through ten, with the sequence scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m.

Friday Feature

In addition to Galleon Mast and Kroy, the other stakes winners in the field are Conquest Big E, Diamond Bachelor and Durocher.

Kroy, Conquest Big E and One Of a Kind can be expected to set a fast pace with Galleon Mast further back in the pack.

Galleon Mast has won four stakes at Gulfstream and finished second in this year's Canadian Turf (Grade 3) at one mile at Gulfstream.  Miguel  Angel Vasquez will ride for trainer David Fawkes.

Kroy has won two turf stakes at Gulfstream and finihed second in the Mathis Brothers Mile on turf lasr Dec. 26 at Santa Anita. Emisael Jaramillo wil ride for traimner Armando De La Cerda.////////

Conquest Big E's wins include this year's Gulfstream Park Handicap (Grade 2) at one mile on dirt.

Today's race wIll be just the second career start on turf for the 5-year-old gelding. Jose Battista has the mount for trainer Donna Hurtak.
