GP West: Course is Firm for Two Turf Sakes

The Gulfstream Park West meet on Saturday will have its first two stakes races of 2017. highlighting a ten-race card with first post of 12:00 p.m. at Calder in Miami Gardens.

Both races will be on the turf course, listed as firm.  The dirt is listed as fast. The Weather Channel  forecast is for just a 15 percent chance of rain during racing hours.

The $75,000 Showing Up is one mile for 3-year-old males. It is the seventh race with scheduled post of 4:02  p.m.

The $75,000 Cellars Chiraz is one mile  for 3-year-old  fillies.  It is the tenth race  with scheduled  post of 5:56 p.m.

We will have a preview of the two races early this afternoon on this blog.

Breeders' Cup
First post is 1:10 p.m. Eastern for Saturday's Del Mar card,which includes the Breeders' Cup races.

Calder does not have in-bound simulcasting.
Gulfstream Park, which runs the GP West meet, is open for simulcasting at its facility in Hallandale Beach.  Its simuilcasting menu includes the full cards at GP West and at Del Mar.

Tampa Bay Downs will not resume  live racing until  Nov. 25.  It is open today for simulcasting that includes the full cards at Del Mar and at GP West.
