Fast and Accurate Wins Showing Up Stakes

Fast and Accurate beat Kroy by a length in Saturday's $75,000 Showing Up Stakes at  the Gulfstream Park West meet, held at Calder.

Fast and Accurate, at 9-1 and on the outside, and the even-money favorite Kroy, battled  for thbeeee lead the length of the stretch before Fast and Accurate pulled ahead in the final 50 yards.

General McGooby finished third in the one mile turf stakes for 3-year-olds.

Jose Batista  rode ast and Accurate, who won in 1:38.04 on the coure listed as firmMike  Maker trains Fast and Accurate for owner Kendall Hansen.

The win was the third in seven sarts this year for Fast and Accurate, who  made his GP West/Calder  debut.
The $1 exacta paid $39.60 and the 50 cent trifecta paid $141.70.
