A Rainbow 6 carryover that is approaching $1 million
and a pair of high-end allowance/optional claiming races loom as the highlights
of Wednesday’s ten-race card at Gulfstream Park.
First post is 12:35 p.m.
The carryover is $937,826 on the Rainbow 6, which is a
20-cent only bet. It is on races five through ten, with the sequence set to
start at 2:32 p.m.
As of 10:30 a.m., the conditions of the main track and
of the turf course were not available.
The Weather Channel forecast is for the chance of rain
to rise from 5 percent to 40 percent during racing hours.
The eighth race is five furlongs on turf for
3-year-olds. It is an allowance with a
$48,000 purse and a $75,000 optional claiming price.
The ninth race is one mile on dirt for fillies and
mares 4-years-old and up. It is an allowance with a $49,000 purse and a $62,500
optional claiming price.
