Tommy Macho Rolls in Fred W, Hooper

Thus far, no  rain at Gulfstream

The most impressive stakes winner has been Tommy Macho, taking the one mile Fred W. Hooper (Grade 3) in the fast time of 1:33.53.  Luis Saez rode for trainer Todd Pletcher.

The was just  .40 of a second off  the track record of 1:33.13 set by Normandy Invasion in 2014.

Tommy Macho won by 3 3/4 lengths over Stanford, another Pletcher trainee.  Grande Shores finished third, another six lengths back, in the eight-horse field.

Tommy Macho was seventh and Stanford third after a half mile chasing a fast pace by Wildcat Red and Just Call Kenny.

We'll see if that running style holds in the Donn coming up at 6:05 .p.m.

Tommy Macho      9.00  4.40  2.60
Stanford                         7.00  4.80
Grande Shores                       4.20
