Gulfstream Resumes Friday with Nine Races; Day is Getting Off to Wet Start

After being dark on Monday through Thursday, Gulfstream Park will resume racing Friday with nine races and first post at 2:00 p.m.

The Friday carryover on the Rainbow 6 is $316,483. The 20 cents per combination-only bet is on races four to nine with  the sequence scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m.

Light rain fell during portions of this morning, and rain is likely during some parts of the afternoon.

The first race has been moved from the turf to the dirt which is listed as Wet Fast.

As of 1:30 p.m. races four, seven and nine remain scheduled  for turf which is listed as Good.

Gulfstream has a Friday through Sunday racing schedule until late August, while it puts in a synthetic Tapeta surface on what is now the outer portion of its turf course. When that installation is completed, Gulfstream will put Thursdays back into its schedule and have races on dirt, turf and Tapeta.

On May 28, Gulfstream lifted most of its COVID-19 restrictions on attendance.

Gulfstream now provides open access for the general public throughout its racing facility, with tickets not required.

Tickets and/or reservations are needed for the Silks simulcast area the Ten Palms restaurant and grandstand seats. Masks are not required outdoors, but are still required indoors when not eating or drinking. All ages are welcome.
