Bettors poured more than $10.5 million into the Gulfstream Park Rainbow 6 on Saturday--a day with a mandatory payout on the 20 cents per combination only bet.
The carryover coming in was $1,481,489.
The Rainbow 6 today is on races seven to twelve.
Several seconds before the start of the seventh race, the Gulfstream telecast flashed that the Rainbow 6 pool was $12,022,779. Subtracting the carryover from that total shows that $10,541,290 had been bet on the Rainbow 6 to that point.
With more bets no doubt coming in, the day's total was probably more than $11 million.
Winners of the first four Rainbow 6 races (program numbers in parentheses) were:
7th -- FoolishHumoor (5) 7-2
8th -- ASSertiko () 11-1
9yh -- Halladay (6) 6-5
10th ---- Battle of Blenheim (6) 6-5
