Sunny skies with fast and firm conditions kick off the racing week. Today's nine race card has a first Post time of 12:15 PM.
Tampa Bay Downs races every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday (except Easter) until closing day on May 7.
The feature is RACE 7, Post time 3:18 PM. A contentious field of sophomore Fillies will go a grassy mile under $32,000 Maiden Claiming conditions.

There are several runners in this contest who are dropping into Claiming company for the first time. These types usually have an edge over their rivals who have been in the Claiming ranks without a win.

Improvement is expected on the drop and horseplayers should note the connections. Leading jockey Samy Camacho will ride for top trainer Gerald Bennett. The Bennett outfit wins at a 41% clip in this situation.
