Gulfstream
Park has an 8-race program planned for Wednesday, March 8th; day 52 in
this Championship meet that began Dec. 26th and runs through April 2.
Gulfstream is switching to a 12:40 PM first post time.
The 3rd through 8th races are the Rainbow 6 races, starting at approximately 1:38 PM. The carryover there is $0 since
the jackpot was paid out last Sunday on the mandatory payout. The
Sunday racing tallied nearly $20 million in handle ($19.57 million), and
a $40,357 payout to about 140 Rainbow 6 bettors. The winning program numbers were: 6-3-1-3-8-4. No starting gate favories won in the 6 races, and the 7.4:1 Queen Picasso win in the last race no doubt whittled down the winners a bit.
The 61 runners in the Rainbow races was the highest since Pegasus day back in late January. $5.27 million was wagered, and the carryover from Saturday was $1.37 million.
The Late Exotic bets Pick-4, Pick-5 paid $933.85 and $5,588.45 respectively.
Total purses offered on Sunday were $509,000. They were $2,279,000 on Saturday's Fountain of Youth Racing.
Good Luck!
