Gulfstream
Park has an 11-race card Sunday, with first post at 12:10 pm. There are
no stakes races planned on the day. Sunday's racing will feature the
mandatory payout of the Rainbow 6 wagering, with the current carryover
at $1.369 million after Saturday's multiple winners earned $31,053 each.
The Rainbow 6 (Pick-6) will commence in race 6 at approximately 2:40
pm. Gulfsteam is estimating a $6 million pool on that wager Sunday. It
drew $706,082 Saturday.
In Saturday's racing, 138 starters entered the gates, with all the races being dirt or turf (no Tapeta track races). Just 3 favorites won in the 9 stakes races. The high-odds race 12 saw Dorth Vader win at 46:1 paying $95.00 on the WIN. That made for big late Pick 4 and Pick 5 payouts; $1,982 and $12,105 respectively.
The $400,000 Fountain of Youth Stakes was won by Forte at 0.5:1 in the last race (14).
Besides the mentioned late exotic payoffs, the Super High-5 paid nicely in races 11 and 13 with $10,148 and $6,665 respectively.
Fifty-Nine horses left the gate in the last 6 races. The winning program numbers were 9-6-1-9-10-1/4.
Total all-sources track handle was $36.17 million, the second highest Fountain of Youth handle in the past 6 years. The 2020 handle was $36.52 million.
