Gulfstream Park will begin four straight days of racing on
Thursday, with a ten-race card and first post of 1:10 p.m.
The carryover on the Rainbow 6 is $377,115. It will be on
races five through ten with the sequence scheduled to start at 3:27 p.m.
Conditions are listedas fast and firm.
*Thursday is the ninth day of the spring meet.
Nik Juarez goes into it as the leader in the jockey standings with 14 wins.
Miguel Angel Vazquez is second with 11 victories. Defending
champ Tyler Gaffalione and Edgard Zayas each have 10 and are tied for third
place.
Juarez was tenth in wins with 45 in Gulfstream’s recently
concluded championship meet. He moved up
in the standings during the final weeks of that meet. He is now getting more
mounts from top trainers after championship meet leader in wins Luis Saez and
several other leading riders such as brothers Irad Ortiz Jr. and Jose Ortiz have
shifted to northern tracks.
Defending spring meet champion Todd Pletcher and Francisco
D’Angelo have four wins each and are tied for first place in the trainer
standings.
The $75,000 Game Face is seven furlongs on dirt for
3-year-old fillies that have never won a stakes race. The
$75,000 The Roar is seven furlongs on dirt for 3-year-old males that
have never won a stake
