The ninth race is coming up at Pimlico, and the dirt track has been upgraded from muddy to good.
There is the prospect that it could be upgraded to fast before the Preakness (Grade 1) goes to post at 6:45 p.m.
The Weather Channel forecast is for a zero percent chance of rain the remainder of the afternoon in Baltimore.
We will publish our recommended bets on the Preakness within a half hour. We have been waiting to see if it would be necessary to handicap based on an off track.Now, it appears that will not be the case.
