Abel Tasman, in 14th and last place after a half mile, staged a huge rally and won the $1 million Kentucky Oaks (Grade 1) on Friday.
Mike Smith rode Abel Tasman, who is trained by Bob Baffert.
Their win in the 1 1/8 mile stakes for 3-year-old fillies came in the rain on a sloppy and sealed track.
Daddy's Lil Darling finished second, also rallying from back in the pack. Julien Leparoux rode her for trainer Ken McPeek.
The odds were 9-1 on Abel Tasman and 12-1 on Daddy's Lil Darling.
The $2 exacta paid $203.00.
