Gulfstream Park has a twelve-race card scheduled for Saturday. First post is at 12:30 PM, and the last post is 6:20 PM.
There are no stakes races on the card.
Two carryovers: the Rainbow 6 at $16,916 and the Super High 5 at $2,641. In Friday's racing action, 6 winners hit the Rainbow 6, each pocketing $6,578.30. Gulfstream will seed the Saturday pool up to $50,000 if wagering does not amount to that on the Rainbow 6.
Two favorites won in the Rainbow 6 races, and the longshot wins of 17:1 and 8.8:1 made it tough to get that wager to work. Poiema,
at 17:1 in race 9 won by 8-3/4 lengths, and ... led at every call (gate
to wire) from the 2 post. You never know when a horse will break out
like that. That's the fillies second win in 10 starts at Gulfstream.
The late Pick 5 paid a big $45,753.75, surprising in that Races 5 and 6 were won by favorites, including both Pick 5 and Rainbow 6 races.
Bettors added $70,490 to the Rainbow wagering, with 46 horses running in the Rainbow 6.
