Three Carryovers on GP West Saturday Card, With First Post of 1:15 p.m.

The Gulfstream Park West meet will have three carryovers on  its ten-race Saturday card.

First post is 1:15 p.m. for the GP West races, which are held at Calder in Miami Gardens.

The carryovers:
*Super Hi-5 --  $2,655.72 on first race.
*Rainbow 6 -- $33,819.65 on races five through ten. The sequence  is scheduled to  start at 3:35 p.m.
*Late Pick 5 -- $16,430.17 on races six through ten. The sequence is scheduled to start at 4:07 p.m.

On Friday, as a result of two long-shot winners, there were no tickets with the winners of all six Rainbow 6 races and no tickets with the winners of all five Late Pick 5  races.

So, Gulfstream made a non-jackpot payoff on  tickets with  winners of five Rainbow 6 races. There were 23 such tickets and each received $853.54 on the 20 cent only bet.

Friday was the second straight  day without any tickets with all  six winners.

Friday's Rainbow 6 wagering was $35,072.  Of that Gulfstream took out 20 percent, divided 56 percent among tickets with five winners and added 24 percent to the carryover.

On the Late Pick 5, the payoff on a minimum 50 cent bet was $211.85.  The number of winning tickets was not readily available.

Betting on the Late Pick 5 was $23,778. With the carryover, we expect that more than $100,000 will be bet on the Late Pick 5 on Saturday.

On Friday, Miss Moochie won the sixth race at  16-1 and Hogans Holiday won the featured eighth race at 20-1.

The eighth race was 1 1/16 miles on turf for  fillies and mares 3-years old and up.  It was an  allowance with a $47,000 purse and an optional claiming price of $35,000.

Hogans Holiday,  not in for a tag, was fourth entering the stretch.  She rallied to beat Southern Sis by three-quarters of a length.

Leonel Reyes  rode Hogans Holiday for trainer Marcus Vitali and owner John Grossi Racing Corp.

The winning time was 1:44.96 on the course listed as firm.
