Saturday's ten race program is highlighted by a trio of Stakes events, the first of the new year. Post time for RACE 1 is scheduled for 12:15 PM.
All of today's Stakes races will be covered live on RadioStPete.com, including the call from track announcer Jason Beam.
Thoroughbred racing is held at Tampa Bay Downs every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday (except Easter), until closing on May 7.
RACE 5, Post time 2:14, starts the Stakes action. The $125,000 PASCO STAKES at seven furlongs is for three year olds. Those who run well will go on to longer distances as the season progresses.
THE BET: $10 to win on CYBER VIKING (2) and a $2 exacta box with PROVACATEUR (1) and CATTIN (5). 1,2,5. Total Bet $22
RACE 6, Post time 2:50. The GASPARILLA STAKES also with a $125,000 purse at seven panels is for sophomore Fillies.
THE BET: $10 to win on OUTFOXED (5) and a $2 exacta box with SHE NASTY (3) and STRATEGIC BIRD (8). 3,5,8
Total Bet: $22
RACE 9, Post time 4:25. The $50,000 WAYWARD LASS STAKES is for older Fillies and Mares at one mile and one-sixteenth.
THE BET: $10 to win on ALWORTHY (7) and a $2 exacta box with DON'T GET KHOZY (5) and SERENE (8). 5,7,8
